Cancer information and resources
Olivia visiting with patients
If you are on this website, it is likely that you or a person you know may have cancer. At this challenging time, having the right information can help you understand the type of cancer you, or your loved one, have and what having it could mean. It can also help you learn about treatment choices and the support services that are open to you. Getting the right information is not always easy. Looking for information on the internet can also be confusing.
Information and Resources Service
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre will include a dedicated Cancer Information and Resources Service area with internet services and hardcopy information for patients and carers to access at their leisure.
The service will include patient information on all aspects of care - medical and wellness therapies and programs, to improve the information that people with cancer, their family and friends get at the hospital. This will include information on cancer types, treatments, support services and palliative care.
If you are starting cancer treatment at Austin Health, your doctor, pharmacist or nurse will talk with you about the treatment you will be receiving and can provide you with an Information Pack. They will also tell you who to call if you are having any problems or if you have any more questions. For more information, visit the Austin Cancer Services website.
