Gordon's Story

Gordon Chan with one of our celebrity ambassadors, Danni Minogue

Touched by cancer

Gordon Chan (pictured here with one of our ambassadors - Danni Minogue) began working at the Austin Hospital in April 1980 and has seen both sides of cancer, as a staff member and a cancer patient, after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2003.

“I know from working here that our research is world-class. Combining researchers, clinicians and wellness therapists in the new Cancer and Wellness Centre will be so much more beneficial. It will really help us to work much better as a team to collaborate on vital research. There is still a lot of cancer research to be done.” Read Gordon's story...

Olivia Newton-John says thanks for $1 million donation

Olivia Newton-John flew into Melbourne to personally thank a local Melbourne couple, Carlo Montagner and Bozena Zembrzuski, for their extraordinary donation of $1 million - the largest personal contribution to date to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, currently being built at the Austin Hospital.

"Both Carlo and I grew up in the northern suburbs and The Austin was a part of our lives as the local hospital. We have since used it many times with our children and wider family," said Ms. Zembrzuski.

Please join Olivia and the Montagner Zembrzuski family, and make your donation today.
