The most important thing you can do for yourself and your mental wellbeing is to take time for yourself. It doesn’t have to be a long period, but just make sure you create time each day that is just for you.
You need to recharge your batteries and make sure you are giving yourself the chance to feel good in order to help others.
Know Your Triggers
Be aware of what triggers your moods and how they affect your wellbeing. Do certain things, like loneliness or anxiety, bring on feelings of sadness? Knowing what can trigger feelings of depression or anxiety is key when trying to stay mentally healthy.
Practice Self-Care
Take care of YOU! If you are overwhelmed by life, take some time to do something that makes you happy – watch your favorite movie, read a book, spend time with friends or family members, exercise; it doesn’t matter what as long as it involves self-care and brings you happiness!
Get Enough Sleep
Most adults need seven hours of sleep every night in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. When we don’t get enough sleep our bodies produce more cortisol which can increase feeling of anxiety and decrease libido among other things.
Make sure that you are getting enough sleep each night (at least 7 hours) so that you can properly function during the day!
